This week marks a brand new year and the launch of my Cat Behaviour Blog. I’ll be sharing my thoughts and experiences on current cat related affairs, cat behaviour and behaviour problems.
I started my journey as a cat behaviourist in 2010 and in these past 10 years I have learned A LOT and helped many owners with their cats unwanted behaviours. I learn something new from every cat and I’m excited to share my experiences with you.
One of the questions I ask every client before we get started is ‘what will you do if the behaviour does not improve?’ and often the answer is rehome. (There is no judgement here, sometimes this is genuinely the best outcome for the cat.) Thankfully it rarely comes to this and improving behaviour problems plays a huge part in keeping cats in their homes - which is invaluable considering the current strain on rescue centres. I’m aiming to share knowledge and experience far and wide - in a fun and accessible way - to help reduce the number of relinquished cats and promote a harmonious cat-owner relationship.
Although there is a ton of ground to cover, (and I could talk about cats all day) I’ll aim to keep posts short and sweet - who’s got time to read essays nowadays. And I encourage discussion! No one knows everything about cats, let’s respectfully challenge, debate and discuss and see what we can learn from one another. I can’t wait to get started!
