How I can help you and your cat

Sometimes you just need a little advice, and sometimes you need someone in your corner.

Living with a cat is wonderful, but when something isn't quite right, it can be confusing, worrying and sometimes downright exhausting.

Perhaps your cat is peeing around the house, your cats aren't getting along, or you're struggling with behaviour that you just can't seem to understand. Maybe you've tried all sorts of things already and you're still wondering what to do next.

Whatever you're experiencing, you don't have to figure it all out alone.

Every cat and every household is different, so I offer a few different ways we can work together. Whether you need help thinking through a specific question or a more comprehensive assessment and ongoing support, we'll find the approach that best fits you and your cat.

Advice Session

£150 | 45-minute Zoom session

Sometimes, all you need is a little clarity.

Perhaps you're worried about a particular behaviour, you'd like to understand your cat a little better, or you want to check that you're on the right track. You might have a few questions you've been meaning to ask, or you're not sure whether something your cat is doing is normal.

An Advice Session gives us time to talk things through, explore what's happening and work out some practical next steps.

We'll spend 45 minutes discussing your cat and your concerns, and you'll receive a written summary afterwards so you can revisit the advice in your own time.

An Advice Session may be right for you if:

  • You have a specific question or a relatively straightforward concern.

  • You'd like advice about introducing a cat, play, enrichment, scratching or everyday behaviour. This option is not suitable for urine marking, house soiling or severe aggression towards people or other pets.

  • You're looking for reassurance or a clearer understanding of what's going on.

  • You'd like some professional guidance before deciding what to do next.

If our conversation reveals that your cat would benefit from a more comprehensive assessment, I'll explain why and help you understand your options.

Behaviour Consultation Plus Support

£875 | A comprehensive assessment, personalised plan and three monthly check-ins

For more complex cases, when ongoing support matters.

Some behaviour problems are particularly challenging. Perhaps your cats have been struggling to live together peacefully, your cat's behaviour has been going on for a long time, or you've tried different approaches without finding something that works. This is also suitable for urine marking, house soiling, cats fighting, aggression to people, excessive vocalising and any other behaviour that you’re struggling to manage.

In these situations, having a plan is important, but so is having the opportunity to review how things are going and make adjustments along the way.

This option includes a comprehensive assessment and personalised behaviour plan, followed by three monthly check-ins over the following three months. We'll review your cat's progress, discuss any difficulties you've encountered and consider whether the recommendations need adapting as you learn more about what works for your cat. This also requires a referral from your vet and you can usually reclaim the fee through your pet insurance.

Behaviour change isn't always a straight line. Having time set aside to revisit the case can help you feel less alone as you work through it.

This option may be right for you if:

  • You're dealing with a complex or longstanding behaviour problem.

  • There is ongoing tension or conflict between cats in your household.

  • Your cat's behaviour is having a considerable impact on family life.

  • You'd value structured opportunities to review progress and refine your approach with professional guidance.

Although no one can promise a particular outcome, my aim is to help you understand your cat, make informed decisions and work towards the best achievable outcome for your individual circumstances.

“Lucy was brilliant. She came to our home and met our cats and spent a long time talking to me about their behaviour and our concerns. She asked lots of questions and made lots of initial observations. We then received a written report which went into a huge amount of details with advice and recommendations to resolve the issues of one of our cats spraying in our home. Before we met Lucy, Reiben was spraying almost daily. We thought we had ideas as to why but after Lucy’s visit and report, we were able to make specific changes and within 3 months he has almost completely stopped! We’ve had a couple of incidents which we now know are due to a perceived threat entering the house. We’ve gone from all the doors being closed to them all open. We are all far happier including Reiben 😻 I can’t thank Lucy enough and would highly recommend her.”

We can’t thank Lucy enough for bringing peace and harmony to our household. We did lots of research about how best to introduce our new kitten to our resident cat, including advice from our vet and hours spent on websites and watching You Tube videos. After two weeks, we felt completely overwhelmed and lost, things just weren't getting any better. We had a remote consult with Lucy who was just amazing. She was able to explain why we were seeing some of the issues that were occurring, how to overcome them and she gave us the confidence to do things differently. Our cats are now playing together, curl up to sleep together and groom one another. Lucy was so supportive, communicative and professional, we couldn’t recommend her highly enough.”
